Why We're 100% Plant-Based (and What It Means for You)

Not a limitation. A decision — and it shapes everything we make.

Every Flex Foods product is 100% plant-based, and that's a deliberate choice, not a trend we hopped on. Here's the thinking, and what it means for you at the shelf.

It includes more people

Plant-based by default means our snacks work for vegans, vegetarians, the dairy-sensitive, and anyone simply eating more plants — without needing a separate "special" version. One product, more people at the table. That inclusivity matters to us.

It fits where eating is heading

More people are shifting toward plant-forward diets for health, environmental and personal reasons — often not all-or-nothing, just more plants more often. Building plant-based means we're ready for how people actually want to eat, not how they ate a decade ago.

It raised our own bar

Here's the honest part: plant-based made the job harder, and we think the products are better for it. Hitting big protein numbers and craveable flavor without animal ingredients forced real formulation work — pea and oat protein blends, careful sweetening, functional adds that earn their place. No shortcuts to hide behind.

What it doesn't mean

It doesn't mean a compromise on taste or protein. Our chips hit 20g, our smoothies 38g, all plant-based. "Plant-based" is a spec on the label, not the pitch — the pitch is that it tastes better than the cheat. That's the standard, every time. — The Flex Foods team
