Decoding Food Certifications: Kosher, Non-GMO and Vegan

The little symbols on your food, finally explained.

Food packages are covered in certification symbols, and most of us only half-know what they mean. Here's a quick decoder for three of the most common.

Vegan

A vegan label indicates the product contains no animal-derived ingredients — no meat, dairy, eggs, honey or animal-based additives. It's useful not just for vegans but for anyone with dairy or egg sensitivities scanning for safe options.

Non-GMO

Non-GMO certification signals that a product is made without genetically modified organisms, verified against a defined standard. Whatever your view on GMOs, the label exists so people who want to avoid them can choose with confidence rather than guesswork.

Kosher

A kosher certification means the product meets Jewish dietary laws, verified by a certifying agency. Beyond its religious significance, many shoppers read it as an added layer of oversight on ingredients and production.

Why we carry all three

Every Flex product is vegan, Kosher and Non-GMO. We pursue these certifications because they're a form of accountability — third parties checking our work — and because they widen the circle of people who can enjoy what we make. Our Cereal, like everything we do, carries all three.

Next time you scan a package, you'll know exactly what those little symbols are promising.

Certified and craveable — shop Flex Cereal.
